UTSA Madrigal Singers
The UTSA Madrigal Singers are a group of sixteen students selected from the members of the Concert Choir. They have presented their annual series of madrigal dinners on the UTSA campus for nearly thirty years, and these events have become a San Antonio holiday tradition. Although the period the singers recreate is usually the Renaissance, they have also ventured into the music and poetry of other historical periods, including a dinner at the home of Benjamin Franklin, a Dickens evening, and a 1940s USO radio broadcast. In June 1997, the Madrigal Singers toured Brazil, performing in major venues in Sao Paolo and Rio de Janiero.
