What to submit

The Institure for Music Research encourages the submission of text and other forms of media which relate the application of current technologies to any facet of music learning. Typical contributions might:

Topic categories already on the website connect various aspects of technology to:

Potential contributors should not feel constrained to these categories: they are merely guides representative of typical current content.

All submissions will be peer-reviewed for appropriateness to the journal's mission, potential for advancing knowledge in the field, clarity of communication, and novelty of presentation.

When to submit

The TDML ejournal was created to serve as a forum for the rapid dissemination of information in a field that is constantly mutating. To this end we encourage contributions that have a high degree of current relevance. We will do our best to expidite the review process, edit and prepare the media for the server quickly, and notify subscribers as soon as a contribution is online. Articles will be cataloged in biannual issues, but they will be published immediately upon acceptance.

How to submit

Submissions should be in electronic form as attachments to a brief introductory email message. These attachments should be in two formats: 1) a Microsoft Word document which can be printed out for the convenience of reviewers and 2) an HTML version of the document formatted appropriately for the TDML ejournal website.

Identifying references (author's name, affiliation, email address, etc.) should be included only in the introductory email message, not the Word or HTML documents to be reviewed. Articles currently on the website can be used as a generic formatting template. The Submission Style Guide can also assist in specifics of formatting the HTML document for this website.

If your submission includes media other than text, these should be placed in the same directory as the main HTML document and should be connected by relative links. The TDML ejournal's server can handle most common web media types, and the editors encourage the exploitation of these new forms of communication. However, when preparing any non-text media for your submission, please bear in mind the limited bandwidth of the Internet and storage capacity of the TDML server. Also, be sure to clearly document what level/type of browser and what plug-ins are required. Questions concerning specifics of the journal's multimedia capabilities can be addressed to the editor as shown below.
