Frequently Asked

Questions

How are private lessons arranged?

All Private lesson times are arranged through the student and private instructor and may or may not be scheduled on String Project class days. Typically, lessons will be given once a week for half an hour. Only Presto and Chamber ensemble students will receive private lessons. Students and teachers are paired together in the best interest of the child and many students continue with the same teacher to help provide consistency. Private lesson assignments will be available on the first day of dclasses, Sept. 23.

What is Convocation?

Every year String Project holds an introductory assembly that welcomes old and new families back to the project. This is when information about the upcoming year will be given and students and teachers can reconnect. After the meeting new students can check out different string instruments and choose which they would like to play. They can also be sized by a string project teacher and can even begin making contact with string instrument dealers. Convocation is held in the UTSA department of Music Recital Hall.
