Rebecca Hagen graduated with her Bachelor's of Music from the University of Minnesota in 1996, after studying with John Miller and Norbert Nielubowski. She attended the European Mozart Academy in Poland from 1996-1997, working with Aurele Nicolet, Michael Lethiec, Ingo Goritzki, Jesse Read, and others. She completed her Master's in Music (Diplom in Musik: Aufbaustudium)from the Robert Schumann Musikhochschule in Duesseldorf, Germany, studying under Gustavo Nunez. While having the opportunity to play with the Deutsche Kammerphilharmonie Bremen, she won a position at the Pfalztheater Kasierslautern in Germany in 2002. She performed with them for 6 years while also studying with Marc Engelhardt and playing with the Rundfunk Orchester Kasierslautern, Saarbruecken, and later the Radio Orchester Kaiserslautern-Saarbruecken. In 2008,she returned to the States to perform and instruct, and currently plays with the San Antonio Wind Symphony, the Mid-Texas Symphony, and many other orchestras in the area. She teaches elementary music in Schertz-Cibolo-Universal City I.S.D. and instructs bassoon to many area students.
