Sebald is Director of Music Technology and Coordinator of the Music Technology Certificate program. He holds a Ph.D. in Music Education from Michigan State University with cognates in instructional technology and educational product development. At UTSA he teaches courses in computer applications and multimedia production. He is state music technology chair for TMEC, the Texas affiliate of the Music Educators National Conference, and he is a member of the National Advisory Board of TI:ME, the Technology Institute for Music Educators. He also serves as technology advisor to the music department and UTSA's Institute for Music Research. He was recently recognized as the M-Powered Educator for the Southwest United States by m-audio, the educational division of Avid/Digidesign. Prior to assuming his present position in 1989, he headed public school music and fine arts programs in Michigan and Colorado and was on the music faculty of Fort Hays State University in Kansas.

Dr. Sebald has written articles and lectured throughout the nation on applications of technology and multimedia to fine arts and education. He also heads his own multimedia consulting and development company, Advanced Instructional Media, which has produced numerous instructional packages including CD-ROMs, and nationally distributed videos.
