The UTSA Lyric Theatre and Orchestra present Gilbert and Sullivan's classic, "The Mikado". Set in far away and exotic Japan, the tale involves Nanki-Poo who fled his father's (The Mikado) court to avoid the arranged marriage with the elderly Katisha. During his travels Nanki-Poo falls in love with Yum-Yum, a ward of Ko-Ko, the tailor of the city of Titipu. The foursome do eventually pair off, but how whom is mated with whom is the comic trip to the Orient that has kept audiences entertained for generations! (blue credit)
