Susan Dill-Bruenger holds Ph.D. and M.M. degrees in Music Education from the University of North Texas and a Bachelor of Music Education from Southern Illinois University. She has served on the music faculties of Northwestern State University of Louisiana, St. Louis University, and Webster University. She is a member of the UTSA Institute for Music Research and her research in the areas of motivation, socialization to the teacher role, and recruitment has been presented at regional, national, and international conferences.

Her current professional service activities include the editorial committee for the Music Educators Journal, Texas music education representative for the Society of Music Teacher Educators and music education representative for the Southwest College Music Society region. Dr. Dill-Bruenger is the president-elect for the Texas Music Educators Conference (TMEC). She is also serving as music education area coordinator at UTSA where she teaches both undergraduate vocal methods and graduate music education classes.
