Don Hodges

Donald Hodges, Professor, is Director of the Institute for Music Research and Coordinator of Music Education. At UTSA since 1980, Dr. Hodges conducted the orchestras for nine years and currently teaches undergraduate and graduate courses in music education. He received the B.M.E. from The University of Kansas and the M.M. and Ph.D. from The University of Texas at Austin. He served as the contributing editor of the Handbook of Music Psychology (1980; 2d edition 1996) and published and presented numerous papers at international, national, and regional conferences. Dr. Hodges has served on the editorial committees of Update: The Applications of Research in Music Education and the Music Educators Journal, and as President of the Texas Music Educators Conference and Texas Coalition for Music Education. Previous appointments include the Philadelphia public schools, The University of South Carolina, and Southern Methodist University.
