Beverly Harnish, a native San Antonian, began her musical studies on the viola in the 4th grade. She earned a bachelor of music performance degree from Rice University and a master of music degree from Indiana University, studying with Atar Arad throughout both degrees. Prior to joining the San Antonio Symphony in 1999, Beverly held the position of principal viola in the Knoxville Symphony Orchestra. While in Tennessee Ms. Harnish served on adjunct faculty of the University of Tennessee and she is currently in her third year of teaching at University of Texas at San Antonio. Beverly has also maintained a private viola studio for over ten years. In addition to the San Antonio and Knoxville Symphony Orchestras, Beverly has performed with the Atlanta Symphony, Indianapolis Chamber Orchestra, Evanston Philharmonic, Missouri Chamber Orchestra, Aspen Music Festival, Sun River Music Festival, and Bear Valley Music Festival.
