David Bruenger

Dr. David Bruenger recently accepted
a position at the Ohio State University beginning in September
of 2007. While a member of the UTSA music faculty (2000-2007), he
taught courses in popular music and culture for students in all major
areas of study. He also taught music industry courses and was
coordinator of the Music Marketing

As a professional musician, Bruenger has
performed for nationally known artists and Broadway touring productions
in San Antonio and St. Louis. His resume
also includes professional performance in a variety of commercial settings as
an electric bassist, as well as commercial and classical music contracting. He was also the executive director of performing arts concert series that presented classical and contemporary chamber music, chamber opera, dance, and world music.
Bruenger's research examines music, media, and culture in the context of computer-mediated communications networks, including viral phenomena and social media. Co-authored papers and presentations on this topic:
